Tasted at The Jeffery in NYC. POUR: On tap poured into a 12oz tulip glass. APPEARANCE: Dark straw to light gold in color. Somewhat hazy with a few lazy bubbles floating up. Started with a large white head. Reduced to a thin film as the beer settles. Fair amount of glass lacing present. AROMA: Can pick up strong notes of malty wheat right on the first sniff. The nose is a little subdued. Wheat and possible caramel. TASTE: Picking up the tart/sour saison blend. Can also detect notes of the oaky red wine barrel aging. Has somewhat of a tannic burn. Pepper is detected and might be attributed to some of the spicy character. AFTERTASTE: Lots of red wine and tannic-like qualities last throughout. Finishes mostly clean and is medium in body. NOTES: The oak aging in red wine casks really are dominating this brew. It is also interesting that the blend of mature saison keeps it true to the style. However, there is a somewhat noticeable burn. RATING/RESULT: Very Good/ 4.19 out of 5

On tap at Gingerman in NYC.
Pours a hazy reddish orange with one inc of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
Sticky sweet and lightly tart dark fruits, red wine, oak, light funk, light spice. Medium body and moderate to low carbonation.
Overall a very nice beer. Not overly sour but very tasty.

Tasted like a Gose met a sour ale with wine influence. Really interesting.
