Lemon Meringue Milkshake is the latest psychedelic riff on THE boundary-pushing Culinary IPA series. Brewed with gobs of oats and lactose sugar. Conditioned atop EXTRA heaps of luscious Madagascar vanilla beans and fresh and pungent lemon purée. Intensely hopped with Mosaic and Citra. Big notes of bright lemon curd, sticky melty summertime marshmallow, pink grapefruit, and blueberry sorbetto. It's all so strange strange strange and it keeps getting weirder =). Dreamt up with our sweet angel life mates at Omnipollo.

Thanks to larryi86 for this beauty. Received in NBS BIF #11 stamped YO BRO 03/03/2020
Pours a somewhat cloudy orange to gold. A few floaties languish lazily. Seems to match the psychedelic label art. White frothy head struts northward, but retreats a few minutes in.
Aroma is so true to what is advertised on the label. Immediately upon popping the tab, a lush conquering citrus marauder is free. So assertive, I questioned if I actually smelled t it prior to opening. But more than just the lemon zest, a creamy sweet note advances the lemon on its shoulders. Ranks of vanilla as support troops bring up the rear. Reminds of the first time I had Limone di Sorrento, the Italian lemon liquore. The nose, LAWDY!
The troops faithfully execute. The initial assault is firm, zesty lemon. But immediately into the foray leaps a crackery malt note akin to graham cracker crust and the creamy lactose note that flanks my cheeks, and covers my tongue. This actually tapers the lemon zest mojo a bit.
Carbonation marches along at a good pace. Medium feel.
Overall, for a funky sub style, the milkshake IPA, this one is a hit for me.

Cloudy, vibrant, white-hued orange with two fingers of airy off-white head that dissipate quickly leaving spotty, soapy lacing.
Strong fresh-squeezed lemon in the nose. Maybe a slight creamy “meringue” impression behind that.
Definite lemon, as well as a little lime, in the taste. It’s joined by more of that dairy-egg meringue note. Maybe a hint of pine in the finish. I’m not getting much of the vanilla blast I love in this series, and the lime-like citrus bite is a little sharp to my taste. The lemon notes are perfectly mellow, though.
Full bodied with tight carbonation fizz.
The lemon here is dominate, yet soft, and really well done. It really does come across as meringue, too. There is a little sharp citrus bite beyond that — but it may smooth out with an extra week or two. Very well done overall.

A well executed milkshake but the lemon on the back end just didn't work for me. I'm not a fan of Lemon Merignes so I guess that pretty much says it all, while I get lemon in sours, I don't get lemon as a flavor in IPAs - it just didn't work at all for me, but to each his own. Think I'll stick with milkshakes of flavors that I otherwise like from now on...duh...!!! Cheers!

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 7/21/17
Poured into a Tired Hands glass a very nice cloudy pale yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a really nice citrus complex (tangerine, lemon, orange, grapefruit), with some vanilla, nice little diesel like. The taste is really nice, hoppy, malty, with some vanilla, and a very nice citrus complex (lemon, tangerine, orange, grapefruit), tart, with a nice little diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, nice little diesel like. Overall, another very tasty brew from TH. Addictive! Orange Julius! Thanks Larry!

16 oz. can. Hazy pale yellow. Smells of lemon, vanilla, a little creaminess. Tastes of lemon and some tart creaminess, like yogurt without the real yogurt flavor. No bitterness. Dries out. Medium body. The lemon comes off a little soapy, but it doesn't ruin an otherwise good beer.
