thanks to Josh for this

pours a light golden yellow, very little head if any. some faint retention.

juicy fruit, mainly mango, pineapple, and tangerine on the nose.

light but flavorful. taste has some tropical fruit with a mix of pine and rye bitterness. the rye really stands out. some light grapefruit.

very light. with the lack of head, hiss from the growler when opened, i expected this to be pretty flat but it has some nice bite to it actually.

for 3.5%, i could chug this all day long. very good.

First had: on tap at the brewpub

A pale ale using "lots of rye" and Cascade hops.

Nice looking beer, pale, golden-yellow, clearish, with a small white head; moderate retention and lacing. Very slow pouring out of the tap for some reason. Aroma was definitely the high point of this beer, with a big whiff of fresh Cascade hops flooding the nasal cavities; citrusy mostly, with some sweet cereal grain coming through. After that aroma, the taste was just a bit of a let-down, but you also have to remember, this is a 3.5%ABV beer, and relatively speaking, this was a nice flavor for a "session" beer. Citrus hops, bready rye malts with a touch of peppery spice, toasted grain, and something a little out of place, like a little butteriness perhaps, which kept this from being a primo-tasting pale ale to me. Smooth mouthfeel, light-medium body, crisp and drinkable. Pushing the boundaries of what you can do with lower-alcohol beers.

On tap at Tired Hands.

Pours bright gold, nearly clear, with a big white head that settles down slowly. Nicely clinging lace on the glass. Hop forward aroma with subtle rye spiciness; citrusy, tropical fruits, lemons and grapefruit, mangoes, a hint of crackery malt.

Nicely dry, with a gentle crackery, slightly toasted bready malt flavor and the peppery, spicy rye character emerging a bit on the back end. Otherwise a clean and bitter hoppy taste with lots of lemony citrus, pine, and tropical fruit notes and a lingering bitter aftertaste.

Medium light bodied, medium carbonation, a bit crisper and bubblier than is customary for this brewery but still quite smooth. Easy drinking and flavorful, nice job with such a low ABV brew.

On Tap at the brew cafe in Ardmore.

The everyday complications has a nice bright golden shine to it with some faded yellow and light bronze hints peeking out. I am graced with a sturdy inch of white stuff that clings to the glass, rings around the glass with nice patterns. A nice amount of bubbles keeping the cap intact. The smell on this is large and for a small 3.5% beer like this, it's quite the smeller. A big amount of hops, west coast style, a biscuit bite, citrus, smells like some port DIPA's. A nice malt backing with some rye popping out with warming. While this smells like a DIPA, it tastes more like a single IPA, and feels like a pale ale. A nice amount of hop presence in taste, citrus from some hop choices, grapefruit, mango, small pine, rye malt, no alcohol. Nice taste on this. Feel is light bodied and has some bitter capabilities. Carb is there and keeps things alive on the tounge. While it smells like a hop bomb, it's not, yet it's there, if that makes sense. At 3.5% I will be ordering more big pints of this again.

on tap at the brewery

Pours a slightly hazed copper with a crop of white head. A bubbled collar and spotty lacing dot the glass.

Bitter hoppiness with some notable rye spice in the nose alongside some bread crust and grain. There's a light sweetness that lies underneath.

Starts off with a nice dosage of spicy rye with soft hops and a light citric kick. Dry and bitter with some softer malt backbone flavor. Hints of bread crust and grain with a light, almost buttery sweetness. Finishes dry with another kick of rye.

Lighter body, well carbonated, sticky on the tongue but pretty thin overall. Quite impressive flavor for the low ABV.
