Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a mostly dark brown color almost black. With a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Slight lace ran here and there, somewhat in rings, but stringing itself downward.
The aroma had a nice amount of roasty coffee beans, some dark fruits, some dark roasted nuts and a little bit of black tea.
The flavor was moderately sweet tea to dark roasty nuttiness with the dark fruits taking a further backseat. Mild aftertaste of the roast but not necessarily coffee, it's drier and crisp with the black tea there too.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps a touch under with a nice easy going sessionability about it. Carbonation was a bit under but acceptable to me. ABV felt on par. Not much of a finish, but seemed a bit black tea-like to dark fruity and slightly roasty.
Overall, pretty nice American stout to me, I'd have again.

Dark coffee-brown pour with a small foamy tan head. Aroma was roasty, dark malts, and a bit of indistinct fruit. Taste of dark roasty malts, nutty, with the yeast imparting a bit of a clashing tea-like taste to the beer; came off tasting more like a basic homebrew. Kind of thin, about medium-bodied, maybe closer to an English porter. Drinkable, but too lacking in body for me.
