At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Best before May 6/26. My fifth beer from the Toronto, Ontario brewery, and fourth for 2025. Endorsed by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; best before May 6 2026 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a relatively clear brassy golden colour, producing more than two fingers of fluffy, foamy white head that lasts for well over five minutes. A beautiful coat of lace is draped across the glass afterwards, with a creamy collar and thin, soapy cap remaining on the surface - fantastic visuals. Bready, wheaty malts, light caramel and booze on the nose, alongside a huge whiff of piney, floral, woodsy hops; maybe a little bit of grapefruit, too. Smells fine, but not all that varied or expressive for a TIPA.

The first sip was rough, but I warmed up to this beer over the course of the session - much like my chest did. Wheat, caramel and bready malt flavours are more of a background presence; the boozy sweetness, not so much. Its hop profile is fine, but maybe a little uninspired: grapefruit, orange, pine resin and floral, earthy bitterness take over by mid-sip, barreling into a boozy, mildly fruity-sweet finish and a lingering resiny, warming aftertaste. Full bodied, with low carbonation and a smooth, soft, slightly slick mouthfeel that suits this style. Fair drinkability for almost 11%.

Final Grade: 3.66, a B grade. Double Trouble certainly swung for the fences when they came up with Hoser Juice, but it ain't no home run. Hold on, perhaps a baseball metaphor isn't the way to go here. OK, I've got a better one: Hoser Juice is the beer equivalent of a booming slapshot from just inside the blue line... which misses the net entirely, shattering a pane of glass and forcing a stoppage in play. I don't think the flavour profile is particularly novel, but maybe that's missing the point. After a few sips, your taste buds have adjusted to the alcohol; by the halfway point, your chest is warming and the buzz starts to set in. It's worth experiencing at least once, but there's no finesse here; it's pure blunt force.

Pours 1 finger of foam. Amber orange color. Very aromatic of hops, flowers and pine. Lets give this triple a try.
Oh yeah, lots and lots of flavor. This is a real triple. Bold, bitter, hoppy, floral and a little boozy but not that much.
Alcohol decently hidden. This is a 10.8% IPA after all. Not for the faint of heart or for people who don't like IPA's.

For IPA fans and Hosers only!

Good job on this one, but could be smoother. Catch you next time, eh!
