On tap at the Parched Pig. Hazy orange with a small white head. Smells of doughy malt, light earth and spice, and some yeast. Tastes a little tart up front. Malty and a bit bubble gummy. Back end actually gets more tart and lemony. Medium heavy. A little too sweet for me. It's ok, but not good enough to justify the sugar.

From a growler purchased at Pint Defiance into a shaker...pours a fairly clear/barely cloudy autumn gold, with a somewhat disappointing 1/2 finger head, and little retention or lacing. Nose is somehow all of the following: delicate, straightforward, juicy, and slightly funky/bretty in an extremely approachable way. I wouldn't guess the style from the nose...and then when it hits the tongue, it's tastes more like a wild ipa featuring some citrus and orchard (apple and pear and white grape) notes, along with some clean wheaty and grainy malt base. A little oaky barrel at the end. Very clean and fairly light body, but very fully developed flavors that unfold nicely, carb is middle to high, and finish is on the dry side, and though it isn't at all sour, it brings a little pleasing tartness, especially on the finish. Super refreshing, very tasty, well crafted, and interesting enough to keep me looking forward to the next sip. Very glad I got to try this one!

another insanely good beer from these guys, man they are on fire! this is one of their more simple offerings, a seeming hybrid between an american pale ale and a slightly wild saison, its beautiful beer. a bit hazy from the tap, with a gushing thick white head that never really settles, light looking though, and bubbly. juicy dry hopped aromas hit me first, with saison yeast and maybe a little funky brett right behind it, as well as a light and simple malt base that likely includes some wheat. hops in the flavor are both grassy and bitter but also sort of citrusy and juicy, fresh and bold, really forward, but approachable still too, and in fine balance with the dry cereal grain base. the yeast is great, dries this out to the highest degree, adds a cool slightly orchard fruity saison complexion, and goes great with the malt as well. a dab of funk in the finish, maybe mixed fermentation, but its super clean, no residual yeast weirdness here at all, and not even a tad sour. crisp as it finishes, fluffy feeling, and downright refreshing. i could drink this beer all summer long, they should consider 30 packs of cans. a simpler beer from these guys in some sense, but as brilliant as anything else they do, really perfectly done beer that hits the dead center between a light saison and a hoppy new school american pale, loved this!
