Pours an orange / pink with as close to zero head as you can get. Decent clarity. Aroma is pleasantly tart, with faint cherries complementing some subtle funk. Taste mostly follows the nose. Light cherry & barnyard funk. Long, satisfying finish. Clean and easy going down. Good beer.

This is a really good Sour Ale. No way I would have labeled it a Saison, but we all have our own opinions. Picked up a 12 oz bottle at Bottlecraft in Virginia Beach. Pours a dull, hazy reddish brown (mostly reddish) color with a small off white head. Head retention and lacing are not much, but the color is interesting. I have no idea what a chokecherry tastes like but both the aroma and flavor feature a strong "berry" type flavor and plenty of tart sourness. Both the aroma and flavor are pronounced and very enjoyable. the fruit is more prominent in the nose, both fruit and sourness are featured in the taste. Mouthfeel is rich and tart. Very good level of sourness. I had this beer with dinner but it would be even better with a platter of cheese and fruit. My first beer from this brewery - very impressive.

Milky raspberry red body capped with a thin yet lasting head; webs of foam stick to the glass. Earthy, herbaceous smell; elements of red berries. Outstanding tart and sour flavor; cherries, raspberries, strawberries. Medium body; a bit of creaminess; tangy and acidic on the palate; a touch of sweetness offsets the sourness.

L:. Pours a pinkish red color with almost no head and no lacing on the glass.
S:. A strong sour with hints of tartness, with a bit of wild barnyard funk followed by a lighter chokecherry.
T:. Sour hits the tongue, first followed by chokecherries and then a nice tartness and a hint of oak resides in the flavor.
F:. Higher carbonation light to medium body.
O:. This is a nice combo of sour tart and wild.

L - Pale pink-red bloodstained heathen beer. Proper. Little head (you'd expect that since it's more of a sour/tart)
S - Good whiff of the mixed culture sour aspect, you get a tiny bit of fruit, but it doesn't give away chokecherries.
T - Good rounded tart aspect, less of a sour and more of a wild ale farmhouse, nice tart-bread-light cherry on the palate. Dig it
F - Great balance, presence, nice and dry; finishes crisp, clean, and the chokecherries come out in the warming end. Nice. Incredibly easy to put these back.
O - A little wild sour/farmhouse mash-up that uses Colorado chokecherries. Neat.
