4-pack from brother-in-law. Very enjoyable, not too farmhousey.

Tall can without freshness info or other dating.
Pours near clear, moderate cap.
Pine and lime sniff.
Interesting brew with more pine, again lime, as well as bright ginger. Complex and loaded with flavor, but not all that appealing, honestly it’s fairly off putting.
A lot better saisons out there.

16oz can. No dating information found.
Cloudy, straw colored body. Two fingers of white head dissipate after a few minutes, resulting in a skim cap and ring. Leaves behind extensive short strings of lacing.
Aroma has funk yeast esters, white bread, and a touch of fruitiness.
Taste has the white bread malts and yeast esters but also has quite a bit of fruity and spicy hops.
Medium mouth feel, that gets very dry after each sip. Very good carbonation.
Reminds me of an IPA with extra yeast funk.

No can date
Pours a large frothy fizzy almost 2 finger head with fair retention, little lacing, mostly clear golden tan color
Most is quite strong, doughy bread with some yeast, rich bready mild cereal malt, straw, grassy, fruity esters generic tree fruit and berry, hint of citrus, spicy phenols and spicy hops
Taste rich malts, big spicy phenols up front as well, peppery, fruity esters again more generic tree fruit, and some citrus, little lemon zest, malts are doughy, yeasty, little cracker and cereal, mild sweetness turning to very dry finish, spicy hops kick in with med bitterness, and more lemon pith
Mouth is med bod, med fizzy prickly carb, faint tingly alcohol
Overall pretty nice

i didnt expect a clean saison here, but its real well done, french saison yeast it seems to me, maltier than most by just a tad, perhaps noble hops too, but a little caramel to it, clean and bright beer, but it would be even better with a brett pitch, it seems to almost be begging for it, but its trve, and this is nicely done of course, drinks lighter than its abv would suggest, even with the richer malt. the nose is pretty unexciting, i guess in thats its real familiar, the winey and pear-like esters of the saison strain, done warm, almost belgian type, some bubblegum there, and minimal hops but a touch spicy, a little pepper to it. the flavor is good, i like the hops starting early, always a background flavor, but they help keep this from being generic with the generic fermentation profile. estery, more so as it warms, but malty and sweet too, less wheaty, more almost english, kind of an odd beer overall, subtly so, but flavorful and autumnal and nice on a chilly fall evening. cool art on the can, not as complex as expected, but good beer. thanks to my buddy for shipping me the can, i miss trve as much as anywhere else in denver....
