Deep amber body, mostly clear; tiny carbonation bubbles; thin, bone-white head, foamy and lasting. Fairly mild aroma; some ester qualities - old apple and peach; light grain notes. Fruity and slightly sour taste; fermented peach and strawberry; very faint bitterness; a touch of wheat cracker in the background. Medium body; fizzy; mild tartness.

An interesting beer yet ultimately mundane.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber with a one finger head; a few splashes of lacing

Smell: Tart cherry, honey and almond with an earthy element

Taste: Almond and moderately tart cherry flavors forward with an earthy aspect building; spicy clove and phenolic flavors emerge, after the swallow, with a hint of honey in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: My first kviek, which I learned, is a Norwegian brew; good job to make something of this rather obscure style

Pours copper in color with a foggy tint to the transparency. Head is two fingers of white foam that retain wonderfully. Aroma is tart cherry, almond, stone, wildflower honey, and earthy hops. It seems to cling to that last note - earthy hops. No real tart or puckering qualities in the aroma. Flavor profile hits almond first, before leading into tart cherry, which plays a very minor role. Stone, grassy and earthy hops build the complexity further before the finale, which is driven by clove and fruity yeast. The final note is driven by that fruity yeast, which is where the profile hangs for awhile before dropping off. As the beer warms, it develops a honey note at the back. The whole profile is mild in tartness, but does deliver some in the middle. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. It has a soft, expansive effervescence, akin to a smooth champagne, with bubbles rolling over themselves. Overall, a complex beer that manages to blend together honey, fruity yeast, and earthy saison notes. It's a fun, unique beverage.
