Transparent, just slightly hazed yellow. Small white head upon pouring; quickly fizzles out and disappears.
Aroma is tart, funky, astringent; crab apple, grapefruit zest, lemon, hay, and some pepper and spice tingle the nostrils.
Sourness smacks the palate upfront. Lemon peel, grapefruit, underripe pineapple. You briefly detect subtle crackery malt, before the dry astringency of the crap apple takes over. The result hay leads into suggestions of what I assume is the ginger and goji berry--blueberry and juniper? Defintely some ginger. Lemony, fruity, and berry forward dry spice. The Thai chiles tingle the back end--subtle warming heat, but never palate-domating.
Medium-light feel. Well carbonated. Dry and crisp.
Very tasty! Points for creativity. Lots of well-mashed ingredients that taste great altogether!
