Somewhat cloudy and tannish to light brown, careful pour didn't leave a lot of head or lace, but overall it didn't look bad at all.
Aroma and flavor are smooth and subdued, yet still plentifully hoppy, It's not an over the top IPA but it's pretty high on ABV at 8% (could be a DIPA, mods feel free to change the category if you feel the need, but it's listed as an IPA by the brewery, and I think that's probably the best spot for it based on my reviews of both styles so far). My first impression was C-hops with lots of citrus, and some resiny, piney notes are abundant, but there's still a balance of maltiness that makes it one of the more mellow IPAs I've had (which is NOT a bad thing, btw, not everything listed as IPA needs to make your eyes water from the ridiculous amounts of hops). Later I checked the details and discovered the cascade hops notes, which fits with my experience (and cascade is my favorite hop, still).
Body is somewhat slick and on the low side of carbonation, but is within the limits of what I tend to like (note: I don't like under-carbonated beers, I would rather then be over-carbed than under).
Overall It's an interesting take on the style, perhaps not quite PtE but then they're not claiming it to be either.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
