This is the initial test batch from April 2013 sampling. It has since been modified over several batches, and given the name "Ryddle" on June 14, 2013.

"...funked up Belgian-style amber rye ale w/ Brett...clove, malt, styrian goldings & crystal hops..barnyard, tart...".

Had this one in my fridge for two months and it held up very well in the growler. In fact, I think it mellowed, smoothed out and developed somewhat.

Pours copper colored into Relic snifter with rocky white head that fades to a skim, but easily revived w/ lace given a quick swirl. Beautiful.

Smell is definitely a bit funky, but not too much. Picking up some rye spiciness too. Subtle. Malt in there as well.

Taste is really nice with malty smoothness and that mild funky tartness and drying hoppy presence. Overall, very good. I really believe that letting it rest in the fridge for 8 weeks or so helped this beer. I remember it being a bit harsh in the tasting room, but 'age' agrees with it.
