473ml can poured into tulip 14/6/16
A clear golden yellow liquid, no color added by fruit as far as I can tell, just a couple big bubbles here and there but they manage two fingers of loose foam that's gone in a flash leaving no lace
S its like a basic lager with just a little raspberry, sweet grains, some floral notes, wet paper, shes basic but OK
T more of the same really, slightly more raspberry, I'm not really getting much of the lemon, again its OK, something you could smash in the Sun
M light and crisp, more bubbles then visible, about what you expect
O about as basic as a fruit beer gets, its a Summer smasher but that's about it
This one will appeal to the masses on the patio when its hot, just a simple beer that I could take or leave depending on the heat

If you're looking for a lighter feeling beer with a realistic (if muted) fruitiness, you will probably enjoy this brew. It is a bit tepid in the glass, light on head and carbonation. It certainly smells and tastes as billed, though the "Helles" character is a bit hard to detect. Overall, another pleasant summer sipper - my wife certainly enjoyed it, as will other "non-beer" folks.

Appearance - Pours a golden hue with slight purple tinge, with two fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - citrus peel (lemon), raspberry/blackberry, grainy and biscuity malts, earthy/leafy hops.
Taste - Biscuity pale malts along with the citrus and berry flavour duo. Hops are quite mild on this one.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Slightly dry finish.
Overall - A summer refresher with mild flavours. Could use more of the fruit it boasts, but otherwise another good brew from Village.

Nothing wrong with this beer, it's just not quite what I'm looking for. On the plus side, the fruit here feels very "naturally," it's not too sweet, and the lemon adds just a bit of bite to combat the potential of leaning too far into froo-froo flavours. But the base beer--while it's got the body and feel right--is way too muted. I'd love to see a bit more malt/noble hop here to actually merit the "helles" designation they're running with.

330ml, typical embossed bottle, a purported Helles made with lemon and raspberries.
This beer pours a crystal clear, bright salmon-tinged, and very pale golden yellow colour, with one fat-ass finger of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy off-white head, which leaves a few instances of hanging organic alien invader ship lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of musty raspberries, sort of sedate lemon rind, gritty and grainy pale malt, a twinge of earthy yeast, and very plain leafy, weedy, and floral hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, muddled citrus rind, an equally unheralded and muted raspberry fruitiness, fading musty yeast, and more generic leafy, earthy and dead floral hoppiness.
The carbonation is adequate in its gently probing frothiness, the body a so-so medium weight, and mostly smooth, just a certain tackiness from either the yeast or the guest fruit making a minor fuss here. It finishes trending dry, the graininess starting to bottom out, and the muddled fruitiness putting 'er in neutral.
Overall, not a bad fruited-up Helles Lager, the inherent graininess keeping this one from swaying too close to the parallel ditches. Anyway, this will probably be a big hit with the Cowtown hipster patio crowd this coming summer, so here's my wan ode to them.
