473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $4CDN. No canning date listed but a sticker attached lists the ABV at 5.4%.

Appearance - Reasonably hazy pale golden straw brew. A finger of loose white head is poured and stays for a medium duration. A few bubbles can be made out, the haze is just hazy enough to impair the clarity.

Smell - White grapes, with some lychee, grapefruit, with currants backing things up. Fairly unique and inviting aroma.

Taste - Some berries and more grapes up front, but the flavor is a bit muted compared to the nose. There's a spicy flavor mid sip. A watery quality that reminds of watermelon even. Earthy finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium-light body and quite fizzy. More watery than anything certainly not dry or juicy.

Overall - An interesting an unique nose, everything else is solid and brewed well enough but not terribly interesting. Worth a shot to try a brewery from out West.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 16 2023 and served barely chilled. An affixed sticker states an abv of 5.4%.

Pours a hazy straw yellow colour, topped with more than two fingers of big bubbled, foamy white head that lasts for the better part of ten minutes. Several messy, stringy swaths of lace grace the glass afterwards, with a lumpy cap and tight collar staying put - looks good so far. Gooseberry and white grapes on the nose, with distinct notes of grapefruit, mandarin orange and piney, earthy, resiny hops; hints of blackcurrant and wheaty, bready pale malts, too.

The flavour profile starts out strong, before clashing and fizzling later on - I'm getting berries and white wine at the forefront, with hints of passion fruit, grapefruit and honeydew melon. Piney, earthy hop bitterness serves as a strong counterpoint at the finish, with watery citrus and berries fading into a dry aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with middling carbonation levels that add some crispness to this brew's smooth, satisfying mouthfeel. Great drinkability.

Final Grade: 3.86, a B+. At first, Binge Watch had me totally captivated: that aroma was genuinely compelling, but I started to lose interest halfway through. It tastes fine, but something here just seems... disjointed? Maybe it's the Simcoe - a hop that I generally enjoy, but seems out of place in a NZ pale ale. As always, it's awesome to see an Albertan craft beer readily available here in Ontario - they're still uncommon, but that's a far sight better than non-existent (excepting Big Rock), which is the way it has been up until a few years ago.

A New Zealand Pale Ale.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy gold with three fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - citrus, tropical, nelson sauivin hops, gooseberry, citrus and grapefruit peel, vinous characteristics from the hops, peach, papaya, mango, passionfruit, bready malts, and earthy yeast.

Taste - light citrus, tropical, and nelson sauvin hops upfront. The gooseberry, citrus and grapefruit peel, and the other tropical fruits get lost in translation. The bready malts and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and sticky with the light tropical notes and hops lingering.

Overall - A brew that started off on the right foot but didn't quite execute in the taste. A valiant attempt at brewing this style by Village. I would've like to see what I smelled translate in the taste but alas.
