Gold-straw colour, slight haziness. Thin head that dissipated quickly.
Definite cucumber aroma, blended with the yeast it reminded me of smell of cucumber rolls, or sunimono. No fruit.
Slight cucumber taste, but malt heavy. Spicy bitterness, that finishes clean. Very refreshing.

On tap at Midtown.
Appearance- Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a thin white head.
Smell- Cucumber salad, spices, touch of Belgian yeast
Taste- Holy cucumber. Definitely has the refreshing characteristic of cucumber followed by spices and a touch of the Belgian yeast.
Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes smooth.
Overall- A different take on a saison by incorporating cucumber. Was definitely refreshing, however, I wish the Belgian yeast played more of a role in this brew.

20oz pint at The National in downtown Calgary - a rather pleasant child-friendly joint on a Friday afternoon.
This beer appears a cloudy bright medium golden amber hue, with one wispy finger of thinly foamy bone white head, which leaves some nice layered limestone cliff lace around the glass as things drop away.
It smells of fresh cucumber salad, soft black pepper, mild Belgian yeast, pale wheat grain, and a touch of earthy hops. The taste is much more wheaty and yeasty up front, followed by a concentrated, only slightly vegetal cucumber essence, some soft mixed pepper notes, and very subtle earthy hops.
The carbonation is fairly peppy, but within agreeable bounds, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, just a wee twinge from the peppery spice making a dent. It finishes pretty dry, the wheat grain, yeast, and guest ingredient all colluding as such.
Well, there's not much more to say other than this is indeed the real deal - cucumber deftly rendered into a pleasantly laid back, quaffable as hell saison. I feel a bit guilty that I haven't toiled in the fields, or worked with my hands all day prior to enjoying this.
