330 ml swingtop bottle, bought at a border shop near Flensburg. ABV is 4.8%. Hazy brownish golden to amber colour, large white head. Moderate aroma of malts (including a hint of mild roastiness) and woodwork, hints of herbs. The flavour is malty without being very sweet, again with mild roasty and woody notes, herbal hops and some fruit in the finish. Not bad.

From the flip top bottle, it pours a hazy color with a nice white head that briefly lasts and then settles down to a thin layer. Light scent with tones of malt, caramel and yeast. Taste follows nose, taste is pleasant, a bit malty with notes of caramel and a bite of yeast.

18th Jan 2014 and my Berlin International Green Week drinking is in full flow when I notice the Schleswig-Holstein area has a Flensburger bar with their Kellerbier on tap: seemed daft to miss the chance of having one.
My 0.3 Litre came a misty golden orange with a full white head that lasted a while.
The aroma was fairly weak, some grass, maltiness and yeast esters maybe.
Taste wise it perked up a bit: maltiness flavour than the nose suggested with a slight smoky hint in the mix. I had hoped for better, but this was OK and almost interesting.
Glad I had it: not likely to try it again though.

A: Lovely murky orange pour with a soo thick and creamy enormous off-white head, that slowly sets into great lacings.
S: Grass, grain and nettles. Malty and bitter hoppy.
T: Malt, dry rather than sweet. Buttery. Grass and nettles together with bitter hops balances each other.
M: Long bitter dry aftertaste. Body is medium and carbonation the same. A bit creamy and very smooth!
O: Yet another nice product from Flensburg - I must go there!

It's a cloudy brown beer with decent lacing and head, but the smell was far too buttery and I also thought the taste was over malted--a lot of caramel for a Kellerbier, not nearly enough yeast!
The mouthfeel was also sort of insubstantial. Still a decent beer and I might buy it again, but nothing I would go out of my way for.

330 ml bottle from Hamburg
Colour is deep gold/almost brown with dense slightly off-white head which in thin layer remains for a considerable time and lots and lots of small carbonation bottles. Leaves nice lacing.
Aroma is strong and malty, some notes of straw. Taste is malty, with lots of caramel, some bitterness can be felt in the aftertaste. The beer feels quite smooth and creamy with medium carbonation.

The colour is medium browned; the liquid is clear. The tow finger white head leaves some lacing.
The smell is malty and quite powerful. Some hints of aroma hops, some roasted malt. Butter. It smells pleasantly.
The taste is very malty and a little sourish. There are lots of toffee/butter-s of diacetyl (flavours. The aftertaste got lots of diacetyl (butterscotch/butter/toffee)
The carbonation is medium strong. The liquid a little creamy.
I am not very familiar with Kellerbiers, but this was a very pleasant session lager.
