this beer is underrated IMO due to poor reviews 2 years ago. They must have improved it because no way do I see this as a 3.xx beer. Crisp, floral, a little peppery, nice subtle bitterness, slight bread maltiness.
I used to find their Belgian efforts a little cloying; this one is nicely dry.

Deep golden in color with lots of vibrant carbonation bubbles coming from within the depths. There's a quarter inch of dishwater white on top. The aroma is the earthy saison yeast and light grains. I'm tasting light Belgian bready grains and earthy saision yeast with more of a sweet candy sugar finish. The mouth is moderately carbonated, dry, and crisp.

This was a very solid farmhouse beer, and a good introduction to River North. Widely available in cans, this beer is a good saison that is nicely balanced. You get the yeast up front, then a smooth transition to the hops on the back end. Very light for a saison at only 4.6%, but that's what they were going for with this one. Success.

16 oz. Can
Poured into a Rooster's True Pint glass a very nice very slightly clean/clear dark golden yellow color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy two-finger white head, which leaves some very nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, slightly hoppy, citrusy, spicy. The taste is very nice malty, yeasty, nice little hop bite, citrusy, spicy. Medium body. Overall, a tasty brew, but again, a different take on the style.

Pours a cloudy, gold color. 2/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of yeast, sweet malt, pale malt, slight citrus (strawberry?), slight hops, hint of bacterial funk, and a hint of wheat. Fits the style of a Saison / Farmhouse Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level and slight tartness. Tastes of pale malt, slight sweet malt, yeast, slight bacterial funk, hint of earthy malt, hops, and wheat. Overall, good appearance, aroma, blend, complexity, but slightly lacking in body.

L-My pour was very cloudy pale orange (can't see through body even when held up to light)
S- Citrus, banana, clove, peppercorn.
T -Tons of sweet citrus and banana, clove and some peppery spice.
F- It is also not very dry for a saison, it is pretty sweet to me. Light carbonation, with a very soft mouthfeel.
O- While I enjoy the taste it seems a little out of style, with so much sweet banana and clove if you were to hand it to me and make me guess, I would guess it was a decent hef. Funkwerks is still my go to for CO saisons.

16oz can. Poured out a hazy, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam.It smelled of citrus, yeasty notes and toasted caramel. It tasted of caramel and some apple with a touch of spicy, yeast flavor.
