A nice pils. And it paired well enough at lunch with Nepalese food, which has Indian spices but more moderate as Nepal is a higher and cooler climate.
Beer Looks about average as most pils are a clear golden with white foam that tends to last longer than lots of lager styles. Beer Smells about average as the mostly sweet malt, only at the end, gives the nose some of the typically blended hops used in the style. Tastes are nicely balanced, but also not particularly complex. Almost medium-mouthed.
My second this week from Garage Project. I like how they have progressed in the ten years since I first sampled their work. For that progress, I give them Very Good Overall Hugs.

Purchased from Purvis Beer in Melbourne in December 2023 and drunk a few weeks later.
L: The beer is a hazy, golden yellow with a long-lasting, dense, bright-white head. Large bubbles work their way up the glass. A very good-looking beer!
S: Biscuity malts and big, floral hops. Smells just like a Pilsner should, even if it's listed as a pale lager on Untappd (but good to know BA sees through the marketing material and labels it a Pilsner!).
T: Garage Project has nailed this one. The beer is moderately bitter, with floral hop notes as per the nose. The malt backbone is sweet yet definitely there and serves as the perfect stage for the hops to do their thing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and luxurious, with low but refined carbonation and carbonic prickle. As with the malt body, the mouthfeel sets the stage for the rest of the beer to shine.
O: This is an extremely enjoyable, simple, yet complex beer on par with any of the lagers and pilsners I drank in Germany and the Czech Republic earlier this year. Garage Project is to be congratulated for stripping beer back to its essentials and delivering the perfect embodiment of the simplicity and joy of the drink.
Cheers!

Pours from the tin. with a slight haze and a little head that soon thins. Not much on the nose, perhaps malt is to the fore and there is straw in the background. Feels thin in the mouth with a short finish and gentle hops. Nice but not one that inspires.
