22oz bottle acquired through a friend. No bottling date. Served in a Burnt Hickory snifter.
Pours a hazy straw gold with almost two fingers of white head. The foam lingers, settling to a dense cap that leaves only a few dots of lace behind.
Smells like straight up Mexican corn bread. Chillies, corn, vague rye spice and faint sugars. Quite amazing how closely this resembles cornbread.
The taste follows the nose. Plenty of roast chilli pepper flavor followed by rye, corn, mild burnt caramel, bread, a faint vegital bitterness and just a hint of alcohol. Again, much like in the aroma, it is all about the Mexican corn bread.
Medium body with moderate carbonation. The finish gets minorly bitter with roasted peppers, vegital bitterness and cornbread.
Burnt Hickory nailed what they were going for with Cobra Verde. This bottle exudes Mexican cornbread. It may not be something I want to revisit often but it is a damn fine beer with authentic flavor.

Great pepper smell, but it isn't too hot on the taste. This would be great with nachos!!
