12oz bottle acquired through a good friend. Accidentally "cellared" in my fridge for about six months. Served in a Burnt Hickory snifter.
Pours a deep, russet hued, near black with a fluffy three fingers of biege head. The foam lingers before settling to a wide ring that laces well.
Smells of smoked malt, brown sugar, fairly nutty and a little chocolate.
Tastes quite nice. Chocolate, a pleasant, non overbearing smoke, pecans, brown sugar, faint earth and a hint of peppercorns. The lack of any noticeable booze makes this very easy to drink.
Light, fluffy body with plenty of carbonation. An aftertaste of smoked pralines lingers on the palate.
It might not be as robust as many of Burnt Hickory's line up but Voodoo Cadillac packs alot of flavor in a light porter package. I hope this comes back seasonally as supposed to being one-and-done.
