22oz bottle that a friend acquired at the brewery. Bottled last week. Served in a Burnt Hickory snifter.
Pours a hazy orange with a finger and a half pale head. The wide, lingering halo leaves several widely spaced spots of lace.
Smells of lime, grapefruit, mandarin oranges and vague cracker. Juicy and inviting.
Lots of juice and hops explode on the palate. Orange juice, grapefruit, lime and just a hint of bready malt sweetness. This is all about hops and juice, much to my delight.
Slick, medium body with fairly soft carbonation. Bittersweet aftertaste is like a hopped up blend of orange, lime and grapefruit juices.
I won't ask how my friend got his hands on a hand labeled bottle of this draft only offering but I'm sure glad I got to try it. This is one I'll certainly have again if it crops up.
