Sink pour. Loved the color and had such high hope for the flavor, but it had a weird metallic flavor with an aftertaste I can only describe as blood-like. Never had a bad beer from Burnt Hickory....maybe this was a fluke or a bad batch.

On tap at the 2018 Decatur Beer Fest.
Pours hazy, dark reddish-brown with an over-sized beige head.
Disappointing aroma with citrus and floral notes. The flavor partially follows but is better than the aroma suggests and it has more orange.
Full body with high carbonation. Partially hidden alcohol.

12 ounce can - $3.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a lofty, tall, though thinning head of tanned foam.
Smell: Coffee grounds, breadcrust toast dust and cinnamon sticks. Then, a bit of muted powderized chocolate and orange, neither of which are particularly engaging, especially when obscured by the shot of cinnamon.
Taste: Lightly charry, burnt breadcrusts with a taste of bitterish chocolate powder. A tangy dose of orange alongside a spicy element that feels like a big, heavy-handed dose of cinnamon. Warming alcohol presence throughout. The flavors culminate in a somewhat muddled finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It's certainly not my favorite BHB release.
