Appearance: Dispensed, as far as I can tell, a black body topped off with a two-inch-high, dark tan head. A tickle of suds here and there on the way down.
Smell: An aroma enveloped in, as one might imagine, a vibrant fruitiness. Also, a sustained note of dark malts with a little chocolate, a little coffee, maybe even a scant breadiness in there, too. Touches of the rum pop in and out.
Taste: Rich dark maltiness, a fair amount of chocolate, and a satisfying, sugared sweetness. COC hoists the sails of fruitiness from the esters, flavors of the barrel, and, of course, the raisins. Light bitterness, very modest hop character. Slight warming alcohol presence. Drying, warming, chocolate-rum-raisin finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: This is the most important event to ever happen in the history of raisins. Updates as they unfold.
