Description from the chalkboard, "A bourbon barrel aged sour stout."
Excited to try this, hoping for greatness.
Appearance is nice, a dark black body with a thin tan head.
Aroma is a warning sign. This smells like apples. Very strange.
The taste follows the nose. This literally tastes like red-apple Jelly Belly jellybeans. Not at all delicious. No bourbon, no stout, just a weird candy red apple flavor.
Mouthfeel is also not good. There's a weird dryness in the mid-palate that just makes this even weirder.
Overall, quite a disappointment. Not worth drinking, do not try. I believe this was likely unintentionally soured. In fact, I would be willing to bet money on it. Instead of tossing, it, they sold it to an unsuspecting public. If it was meant to taste this way, that's almost worse.
