Great Beer! Second best beer in my opinion Night Shift has created. Yesterday 2-28-14 they produced there best beer called Mosaic Beer.. Galaxynation is an excellent beer.. Nice hoppy taste with a fruity juicy type grapefruit taste.. Not over powering but it's just right.

Delicious. The galaxy hops don't overpower the beer like the chinooknation or the cascadenation that i've had recently. this is a much more balanced beer. it's not overly hoppy but has a nice lingering bitterness. all in all, the best of the series that i've had so far.

7.8% ABV, bottled 2-6-14 (13 days old).
A: Pours a clear light red. Very tall, fluffy and effervescent head. Great head retention with an enormous island of foam floating around forever. Thin but continuous lacing.
S: Nice melony hops. Cantaloupe and honeydew? Slight spiciness to it that I cannot quite place, might actually be some belgian yeast character. A light pineapple as well?
T: Melony up front. Some breadiness for the malt with some spices. Spices REALLY kick in in the finish and aftertaste though, with a small wave of bitterness too. Lots of black pepper and it's even salty too. I can practically feel the graininess in my mouth like I just dumped salt/pepper shakers in there. Aftertaste is all drying salt and pepper and a little lingering melony bitterness from the hops.
M: Medium bodied, smooth initially but very dry and salty/spicy on the back end. Feels almost grainy as a result!
O: Spicy Belgian IPA. I can't tell if the spiciness is from the galaxy hops or from the belgian yeast. I'm leaning towards the yeast, it has that typical, albeit very strong black pepper spiciness. And I'm pretty sure galaxy hops aren't spicy like this either. Pretty good belgian IPA but hoppiness isn't strong enough to balance that spiciness. The salt and pepper reminds me of Seaglass. Pretty overpowering and unbalanced. Don't get me wrong, it's tasty enough, but it's messy at the same time.
