12oz can into SN hop glass. Batch #1, canned 8/19/14. Thanks for saving me a can, Kevin.

A: Pours a very cloudy, very disgusting looking creamy white grapefruit juice color with a huge, billowing bright white head. The head looks like dish soap that has frothed up after a good lathering.
S: Sweet and hoppy with juicy notes of tropical fruits, papaya, mango, and mild citrusy flavors of tangerine and grapefruit. I get a hint of evergreen as well.
T: All the juicy tropical fruits and citrus from the nose carry over strong enough to be delicious, but light enough to remind me this is a pale ale. The finish has a hint of bready malt, and the aftertaste is sweet, juicy and has a clean, dry, citrus rind bitterness.
M: Slick and greasy mouthfeel with low carbonation. The body is medium-full. This could have used a touch more carb to fluff up the slickness a little bit, but overall it’s still very drinkable.
O: The flavors paired with the slick mouthfeel reminds me more of juice than beer, although not necessarily in a bad way. Aside from looking hideous, this beer was better than I expected. Thanks again AutumnBeerLove.

A-Extremely cloudy yellow, nice carbonation, with two finger head that leaves nice lacing.

S-Holy tropical notes. Extremely tropical, not much else but the tropical notes are practically perfect.

T-Starts with some tropical notes, not as good as the nose though. Has some wheat and a little bit of grass. Mild bitterness.

M-Light to medium bodied, crisp with nice carbonation.

O-What an extra in a trade. The tropical flavors were amazing.

Damn...Don't know what going on with the appearance on this one. Fully opaque. "Cloudy" is an understatement. Light yellow tinted tan in color. Literally looks as if someone put a banana in the blender. Forms a moderate to large sized head. White and very fluffy. Moderate lacing. Aroma is a blend of juicy and fruity. Some citrus, maybe a little bit of tropical fruit, pineapple, peach, and even a hint of coconut. Taste is similar, but for lack of better words, just tastes "dirtier." Medium bodied with a slightly viscous mouthfeel. Lower carbonation. Mild bitterness.
I guess in the ever growing world of IPAs, you've got to do what you need to do to stand out. This one certainly does. Not necessarily in a good way, but its not a bad beer either.

Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for hooking me up with some cans

Consumed 9/17/14

A: Pours a honey color with some tangerine and some yellow - remarkably, memorably cloudy - kind of looks like pale orange juice or maybe orange juice mixed with pineapple juice - small, white head, fades to a few spots

S: Tropical without an emphasis on citrus - pineapple and mango - some citrus, but it's fairly gentle, like tangerine flesh - very unique level of fruitiness - some pale malts and a touch of Night Shift's distinctive yeast

T: Not as vibrant as the aroma, but interesting - light pineapple, citrus flesh, hint of citrus rind, maybe even a hint of lime - peach and nectarine flesh with some fruity esters - minimal bitterness - pale malts, some light sweetness - more tropical flavors in the aftertaste - might just be the weird appearance, but at times it's like a fruit juice

M: Medium to light body, smooth, adequate carbonation

O: It's Morphin' Time!

This is as strange as advertised. The hop profile is very fruity and flavorful with very little bitterness. The peach flavor only becomes more apparent as it warms, and it's decidedly interesting

Beer pours a dirty opaque copper with a fluffy white head. Pleasant citrus aroma compensates for the brews appearance. Some butterscotch diacytel with citrus hoppy flavors. Beer overall is ok, sort of sums up Night Shift as a whole some good, some not so good. Night Shift has made some stellar beers but they lack consistency,.

Review of first canned batch. Notes from 9/9

A - White head which quickly dissipates. Pulpy-looking grapefruit rind yellow body. Similar to cloudy pineapple juice. Good lacing.

S - Intense, sweet tropical fruits. Lime/citrus.

T - Tons of tropical fruit (pineapple, peaches, etc.). Fresh lime juice/tart citrus. All intense and delicous.

M - Medium carb. Medium body. Bitter, but refreshing finish. Feels a lot like a carbonated juice.

O - Intense fruity IPA. Love it.

Morph pours quite like Whirlpool (the beautiful beer I enjoyed before this one). It's incredibly milky and opaque. A white cap forms from glass swirling. The head is bubbly and frothy as well as bleached in its color. Not generous with lacing. Aroma is very cool. The hops give off one of the most authentic fruit-juice aromas I have experienced. Smells like a mixture of pineapple juice and peach juice. It is actually reminiscent of Whirlpool in the aroma as well. Almost has a sort of coconutty/piña colada aroma as well. As it warms up, the aroma becomes grassier and greener. The flavor is a tad less distinctive. It is quite tasty but the nose is more impressive. It still maintains that "fruit juice" hop quality to it. A bit of pine and grass. Some yeasty character. Citrus flesh; specifically white grapefruit. Moderate carbonation. Hop oils. Medium bitterness. I am really digging how Night Shift is crafting their hoppy offerings. They are very memorable. Something about the malt bill here starts to throw me off after the first few sips, though. Albeit, this one flirts with pure tastiness but has some flaws. I bet as their Morph series progresses, I will be checking back in and raving about this beer.

From a can.
