From a 16oz can, dated 02/17/17. Served in a pilsner glass.
The pour is nearly clear, the colour of bourbon, with moderate carbonation and two fingers of soft beige head. Retention is good for a few minutes before settling back to a thin cap of fizz with spotty lacing.
The nose is faint - nutty, with sharp yeastiness, cider, tobacco and dish soap.
Taste is sweet caramel malts, clean, toasted grain and tart early apples. There's tobacco, black pepper and clove, grassy herb and, unfortunately, some of that dish soap I smelled. Finishes with a little soapy, fruity slickness.
Feel is smooth and slick, light-medium bodied and just adequately carbonated.
Overall, a serviceable beverage if just a little off-putting what with the slight soapiness. (I promise I hand-washed my glass without soap). I'll try another can later and re-review if warranted.

Pours foggy scarlet red with a frothy off-white foam head. Smells like red apples, banana, clove, bubblegum, plum, cherry, caramel, toffee, molasses, chocolate, brown sugar, nutty toasted bready malt, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like tangy red apples, banana, clove, bubblegum, plum, cherries, caramel, toffee, molasses, chocolate, brown sugar, nutty toasted bready malt, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium bodied, creamy with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really nice Belgian-style dubbel.
