From a 16 oi can dated 05/08/20. Sampled July 5, 2020.
Yellow heady pour. Moderate clarity.
The aroma emits some floral and fruity hops but little else. It just does not blow me away. But it is two months old.
Light bodied beer.
The taste tends to lean bready and less hoppy. There is a fruity note in the taste but it does not blow me away. Generally, this beer does not blow me away. Pretty boring. I must say,.

After a lot of hype and anticipation surrounding this rotating American IPA, I’m not going to lie and say that there wasn’t some anxious motivation to like it as I awaited her release in New Hampshire for a few weeks. When Judgement Day arrived, there whispered a faint nervousness amidst a cooler June evening — no one wants to be disappointed —, but when I cracked her can and decanted the ale into this wonderful Boston glass, emerged did a creamed and golden reassurance that everything was going to be okay — cold refreshing Ella, frosting the humid streets of Boston. Refined lemon and lime mingle with the single firm, crispy, atypical Ella hop that makes a very tasty and slammable IPA; 6.8 ABV being just enough gas on the pedal. Nightshift also really nailed this rotation drop; Spring/Summer is really the perfect time for Ella, who dares tropical, west coast vibes but is unequivocally New England.

Nice pour: golden color with a 2F head in a Spielgelau IPA.
Aroma: fragrant citrus, floral.
Medium body.
The taste is different- interesting, but not my favorite. Lots of citrus- almost weird, but worth trying out.
I’ve had a lot of beers with Ella as a combo hop, never a single hop.
Perhaps it is best as a combo hop- unlike Galaxy, Citra, and Simcoe which can hold their own as single hop beers.

Canned 5/8/20
Ella hops? Not sure I've even heard of these before, nevermind actually having them. Going in without any expectations
Pours a cloudy pale gold with 1.5 fingers of soapy white head that fades fast and leaves rings of lacing
Quite a bit of citrus on the nose, fresh sliced lemon and lime supported by doughy breadiness and tropical fruits like pineapple and mango
Straight away, this is very lemony, almost getting into tart territory but not quite. Mid palate switches things up with a moderate malt character that is quickly washed away by surprisingly bitter hops. There's some peppery spice in the aftertaste which is occasionally a bit much but isn't that bad
The feel here is quite light with light carbonation, finishes just off dry and bitter
This was even better than I had expected! I was anticipating something more juicy and hazy but I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by west coast tendencies with heavy fruit and hops. Good stuff, one of my favorite single hops from them

A: The beer is rather hazy yellow in color but seems to have a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a narrow ring around the end, and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of star fruit and spices are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has stronger flavors of star fruit with hints of floral hops and spices. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this IPA to be quite enjoyable, particularly since it was a single hop beer brewed from an uncommon hop variety.

16oz can dated 12/1/17.
Pours cloudy gold with a pillow head of white. Nice retention and lacing. Mild hop notes of peach, melon, and grapefruit in the nose. Medium bodied with a creamy, fluffy mouthfeel. Pithy and dry on the palate with a slightly coarse bitterness. Grapefruit pith with bitter pine and zero malt. Finishes with a coarse, hollow bitterness and citrus pith.
A bit rough and bitter with a nose that lacks.

A bit underwhelmed but ok. Light in color..faint nose and flavor. Kinda like a session NE IPA in its muted aspects.
