Poured on tap at the brewery.
Pours a dark brownish-red color with a half-finger of off-white head. The head is gone instantly, leaving no lacing. This beer looks like Cherry Coke.
The aroma is very faint. There are notes of dark fruit, caramel, and incredibly subtle chocolate. Not nearly as roasty as expected from the style.
The flavor is more of the same. Some caramel, chocolate, and bread. Maybe some plum.
The feel is light bodied, borderline watery, with moderate carbonation. Has a dry finish.
Overall, a very mediocre and disappointing schwarzbier. The flavor and aroma is quite muted, with a roasty character that's barely existent. The body is watery with softer carbonation than expected. Definitely pass on this one.
