Notes: Double India pale ale brewed with Vic Secret and Simcoe

Upon first glance, this beer appears too good to be true. Can it really be there just on the horizon? A glowing, golden double IPA that's perfectly balanced between tropical juiciness and resiny dankness? Let us assure you that it's real, and it's on the way to quench your thirst.

Pint can dated 2/8/19. Pours very hazy peach gold. Nice aroma of tropical and piney hops. Taste is a mix of peach and piney hops, moderately bitter. Feel is juicy and full but nicely carbonated and refreshing. Overall, this is a very good IPA, maybe somewhat between the American IPA and the hazy New England IPA (Night Shift is of course a MA brewer). This batch's ABV of 8.1% is not obvious in the flavor.

Cloudy golden color with a 4F head.

Great aroma. Very fragrant, almost shebert like. Tropical fruit, stone fruit ( watermelon?).

Medium+ MF. Thicker than most beers in the style.

Citrus, stone fruit taste, with a sharp spicy finish.

Vic Secret and Simcoe is a a great hop combo.

A single came in a mixed six. Canned 8/6/18.

a; Translucent orange with an inch thick white head which receded to thin surface foam and patchy lacing.

s; Fairly strong citrus leaning to orange and tangerine/.

t; Strong pine resin and citrus over a solid medium bready malt base. Bitterness lingers on the dry finish.

m; Hefty side of medium, very good body and carbonation tingle.

o: Another exceptional DIPA from this well-thought-of eastern Massachusetts brewery. Not as New England citrusy as some but a refreshing and satisfying quality brew.

Really good beer - great balance between true ipa bitterness and late hop accoutrements. Lime, pineapple, and ripe melon get a nice boost from the malt for just the right amount of sweetness. Really good dry resin finish.

Not sure why Night Shift felt the need to release yet another NE DIPA. Very little info on makeup and why this is different. Very fresh...8/1/18 can date. Hazy, sweet and clean with a good piney hop finish.

16 oz can into IPA glass. Dated 7/26/18.
Nice cloudy golden look leads to sweet tropical candied fruit nose. Taste follows nose, mix of sweet fruit. Feel is creamy and smooth. Very nice NE style DIPA. Get it while you can.

Canned 11/08/17.
Moderate pour yields a one inch white head over a hazy golden body with some lacing. Nose of slight tropical fruit, citrus, and some dank, earthy pine. Taste of dank citrus and dank pine with a really nice mellow bitter finish. Nice feel and overall another great offering from Everett, MA. Cheers!
