Pours rich mahogany looking color tan bubbles on top no head. Malty aroma, dark fruits, nuts and spice lacking in sweetness and free floating sugars that are usually in the style. Taste is the same malty, light toffee dark fruits, again lacking in sugary molasses or any free floating sugars that I'm use too. Lack of sweetness seems worse in the taste. Mouhfeel is medium only carbonation medium or lighter. Overall eh brewery calling it English Barley Wine but even sends light for BA's English Strong Ale designation.

Muddy brown but light passes through the center of the glass. Nice webbing for lace from the modest long lasting head.

Darker malt smell with a light sweetness. No apparent alcohol.

Smooth rich broth with a very light carbonation. Tastes like a chocolate caramel until the swallow where the booze comes on strong.
