Seemed like a good one for Halloween as it was advertised as a Halloween candy stout in the description and contains candy ingredients adjuncts.
16 oz can acclimated to 53°F and poured into a stout glass.
Pours brown so dark it's functionally black, with no light penetrating, and a 1 finger foamy khaki head, receding dissipating slightly slowly and leaving minimal leaving splotches.
Initial aroma to my nose is very clearly and very strongly Reese's puffs cereal that's steeped in milk a little while. I notice it's very sweet smelling, approaching cloying, I pick up roasted malts, as well as hints of vanilla, eggnog, semisweet (?)!chocolate?, coffee, and light alcohol (bourbon?). (In order of intensity)
After agitating, it's alcohol, roastiness, and eggnog, and coffee.
Initial taste before swallowing is sweet and roasty, that same Reese's puffs steeping taste, coffee, dark chocolate (55-60%) and milk chocolate (both at the same time, not semisweet chocolate), and vanilla later.
After swallowing it's first a flash of sweet peanut butter, then dates, prunes, bitter roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee, quickly overrun by surprisingly quite hoppy bitter, very dry, grassy, and jasmine like in the back of the foot of the mouth and back of the top of the tongue, which persists into the finish, existing congruently with vanilla and light light peanut, the latter feeling close to a wisp. By the late finish, the grassiness has lost zero punch, and it was rather strong to start.
Feel is good, it's the creamy smoothness you expect from a stout. Sort of feels like a suspension rather than a liquid if that makes any sense.
Overall I have to say I'm let down. All of the adjuncts were fantastic in the aroma, and great in the taste, but that hoppiness seriously threw me. It seemed totally inconsistent with the rest of the lot, and to my tastes it didn't work at all with everything else. I feel it could have been a lot better without it, I was really hoping for something smooth and sweet and and dessert like. For something advertised as "Halloween candy inspired" and states "no tricks here, just treats" it doesn't feel right. Oh well, I still enjoyed the other tastes quite a lot, and I didn't dislike the hoppiness by itself, I just didn't like it in combination with the rest!
I don't think I'd buy again, I'm sorry night shift.

Deep dark brown color -- nearly black. Tan head. Small. Some minor streaks and spots on the glass.
Sweet cocoa with peanut butter and cinnamon sugar. Very much a dessert beer.
The taste mimics the smell but with a little more bitterness. The chocolate is also darker and less sweet. Rich body with plenty of carbonation. I get some vanilla up front and bittering chocolate in the swallow. Plenty of cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice throughout the tasting.

Canned 10/22/21
Branded as a “Candy Stout” but really just an American Stout brewed with peanut butter. I haven’t had many Stouts with peanut butter before, but I like the dryness it can add. Let’s crack it open
Pours a deep brown with a finger of dark tan head that slowly fades to a ring and leaves decent lacing
The nose is strongly peanut butter focused, it’s almost all that’s here. I’m picking up on aromas of peanut butter, roasted peanut, milk chocolate, light caramel, and a touch of smoke
It’s less peanut butter focused in taste, but I honestly miss how intense it was in the aroma. It’s still good tho. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting milk chocolate, roasted peanut, sweet caramel, roasty coffee, and light plum. The swallow brings notes of peanut butter, dark toast, milk chocolate, raisin, and medium roast coffee
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in an aggressively dry body. Finishes very dry and roasty
This is good, just nothing special. Worth trying

I do not usually like peanut butter porters, but this one is amazing
