A spicy IPA? Is this really where Night Shift has decided to venture? By description alone it sounds like something from Dogfish Head. I bought it just for the hell of it, but I'm really not sure how good it'll be
Pours a hazy and dull pale yellow with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves tons of lacing
The peppers don't really jump out at me right away. I actually get quite a bit of lime, mango, papaya, sweet caramel malt, and grassy hops with just a hint of spice, more akin to mild chili peppers
The taste starts off with a touch of peppery heat and general tropical fruit. The lime is heavily dosed on the swallow, backing notes of pale malt and even more spice, but never in an overbearing way. Superbly balanced
This has a medium body, which combines with very mild carbonation to result in a silky smooth body, feeling way lower than 7.4%. Finishes almost entirely dry from the heat which really helps this one
Holy hell, this was actually way better than I was expecting. Also more along the lines of a NEIPA despite being labelled by the brewery as an IPA. While still a novelty beer, they certainly did it right. Leaves just the right amount of tingling on the lips. Cheers Night Shift, you guys rarely disappoint
