From a 16 fl. oz. can dated 01/07/21. Sampled July 25, 2021.
The appearance is jet black underneath a modest, fading tan head.
The aroma expresses dark roasted malts, espresso coffee, chocolate, and a a feint presence of earthy hops.
Full mouthfeel. Smooth.
The taste is sweet, dark, and roasty for sure with more chocolate than coffee noted. There is a cleansing mild earthy hop finish. Don't drink this a few minutes before you plan to hit the sack. It will keep you wide awake I'm certain.

Not impressed. Tasted like coffee with some beer flavor added.

Bottled 1/8/21
A big brother to their porter, Awake, we have an imperial stout here, finished off with their coffee. Awake was good but not spectacular, I found it to be a bit thin even for a porter. Hopefully this beefed up version will fix the gripes I had with the base beer
Pours completely pitch black with 2 fingers of light tan head that quickly fades to a thin ring and leaves patchy lacing
Definitely coffee forward in the nose, but also quite sweet as well. I'm picking up on aromas of dark chocolate, espresso beans, sugary maple, toffee, and light toast
The taste is a bit less sweet, as well as being a bit more bland and watery. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting dark chocolate, tingly alcohol, and light roast coffee. The swallow sweetens up a bit though, bringing notes of creamy vanilla, chocolate covered espresso beans, rich caramel, and roasted malt
While this vastly improves on the feel of the base beer, it is still a bit thin. A medium body pairs with tingly carbonation, resulting in a dry and roasty beer. Finishes mostly dry and lightly astringent
Another good beer from Night Shift, though certainly not amongst my very favorites. Damn drinkable for the abv, but just still too thin

can to snifter.
LOOK: dark black, a little thinish looking, minimal off white head,
AROMA: coffee, with some hints of roasted ,malts.
TASTE: more roasted malts with coffee and dark chocolate adding some depth.
FEEL: a little light for stout, but body is still 75%-80% full. minimal carbonation. smooth.
Very nice coffee stout with a great nose.

A - Pitch black pour with bright cream lacing.
S - Deep chocolate roast, char, some smokiness, and coffee bean.
T - Dark chocolate roast, charcoal, char, coffee roast, coffee bean, and some very light citrus on the ver-rrrry back side. Roast lingers on the palate for a good long time after the sip.
M - Big medium body that's silky smooth and borderline thick and very dry on the back of the tongue.
O - This is a very coffee forward beer. If you dig coffee Stouts this is highly recommended.

16 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a dark brown cola color, almost black, with two fingers of fluffy tan head. Excellent head retention. Leaves a crown of sticky lacing as the head slowly dissipates.
Espresso coffee hits the nose upfront, followed by a wave of dark chocolate, caramel chews, and vanilla.
The flavor starts off with dark roast espresso and roasted almonds, as well as some dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla cream and butter toffee on the finish.
The feel is medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Creamy and dry. Quite boozy.
Overall, this is a very good imperial stout. There's tons of coffee flavor offset by plenty of chocolate and caramel notes. A bit too boozy, and lacks the drinkability of the OG Awake, but it's still a very nice coffee forward stout.

Poured into a 16 Snulip glass canned 1/07/2021. Pours a very attractive near pitch black with a solid finger sticky light brown head that leaves thin streaks of lace with excellent retention. 4.5
Aroma is Expresso beans, vanilla, dark chocolate, and toffee. Very simple but extremely nice. 4.5
Taste follows fresh coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, and toffee just really really tasty. 4.5
Mouthfeel is bigger than medium, soft creamy carbonation, maybe a little dry and it works perfectly, and at 8.1% extremely approachable and easy drinking. 4.5
Overall I can see myself getting more of this one. The name says it all and I am really digging it. 4.5

One of the better imperial coffee stouts. Rich, dark espresso, chocolate, cocoa, and a very smooth mouth feel. Night Shift brews excellent beers. It’s good to se them brewing a lot of different styles.

So it looks like I am the first reviewer for this beer!
Pours a completely opaque black with a small head that ends up as light lacing.
Smells of coffee. Tastes of toasted malt, chocolate and strong lightly bitter coffee with some alcohol warmth on the finish.
Medium / heavy body with light carbonation. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel.
This is a very enjoyable sipper.
I trust that the coffee is flavoring and not actually caffeinated. If I am up all night I will edit this review!
