NightShift is one of my favorite brewers.
I have greatly enjoyed many of their beers.
The IPL is newer style, best brewed by Jack’s Abby.
It’s a lager potentially with a IPA taste but a smoother MF.
As an lPL, this beer doesn’t measure up to other IPLs I have tasted.
There is a slight mandarin aroma, also in the taste- but nothing distinct in
flavor profile. Some astringent hoppy bitterness.
MF is on the malty side.
If NightShift is seriously going to brew Ipls, they need to rethink their recipe.

Picked-up a four-pack of at Long Ridge in Plymouth for about fourteen dollars. My twenty second brew from these guys. This is a solid, lower ABV brew.

So, it looks like Night Shift is taking their (first?) stab at an IPL. I've only had a few beers in the style, all being from the local Jack's Abby, the progenitors of the style. I'm never really the biggest fan of the style, but they are good when done right so I figure that this will be worth a try
Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose on this is surprisingly complex, brining a unique bouquet of fruits. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy pineapple, pale malt, lemon rind, orange sherbet, and lightly spicy hops
Well shit, this lost all sorts of complexity when translated to taste, feeling very one note throughout with slight variations up front and in the aftertaste. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting orange zest, piney hops, and pale malt. The swallow brings notes of piney hops, a hint of pepper, creamy malt, and lemon peel
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp and easy drinking beer despite the lack of flavor. Finishes mostly dry with a light bitterness
This one kind of derailed in taste, but it's honestly pretty good overall. Perhaps it would be better enjoyed in a shower. Side note, as I was drinking this I noticed the can looked a bit odd. As I peeled back the label, it turns out they just put the sticker over a can of Awake. A bit strange, but they probably just had extra cans to use
