It’s been a minute since I’ve had anything from Night Shift, but I’ve also been getting a lot of beers lately directly from breweries and trades. So it was nice to go back to my local store and find 2 new to me NS brews. This one is a Sour IPA in collaboration with Torch & Crown, apparently meant to be a combo of both breweries’ flagship beers, but soured. An interesting concept that I won’t be able to speak to not having had the one from Torch & Crown. Enough talking, let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy orange gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose on this one is pretty run of the mill for the style to be honest, nothing really jumps out. I'm picking up on aromas of tart orange juice, lime zest, crackery malt, grassy hops, lemon zest, and light grapefruit
This is actually kinda unique taste-wise, as it only adds a very slight tart bite instead of overdosing it. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart tangerine, pale malt, lemon zest, piney hops, and light papaya. The swallow brings notes of lime juice, crackery malt, piney hops, pithy grapefruit, and orange juice
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slightly watery beer. Finishes neutral with just enough tartness
This wasn't anything great, but it certainly wasn't bad. I wouldn't exactly reach for it again, but it's passable for what it is

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
