Our Crusader commands a legion of Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra, and Cascade hops. Battle-hardened from an onslaught of heavy dry-hopping after its four-month journey through chardonnay barrels, Crusader charges forth, wielding flavors of white grape, pine, and grapefruit citrus. One sip, and your faith in its cause will be certain.

I would have loved to have tried this beer fresh. The bottle date was late August 2013. Huge creamy head on this beer with a deep golden body. There's minimal nose on this. You get a bit of the yeast smell and only a hint of pine. The hops have completely faded away. Loads of white wine flavor here. Grapes, only light oak, and a bit of lemonade, which could be the last breath of the hops in there. There is no "off" flavor of old or oxidized hops, they just aren't there on the nose or kicking your palate. Overall, this was a tasty beer that had only a hint of tartness and worthwhile if you're a fan of white wine aged beers.

Honey to dark amber in color with a dense lumpy head. Thick sheet of retention slides down my glass leaving foamy trails in its wake. A fine looking beer.
Smells like white grape must and grapefruit. Tastes like it smells: dry white grape skin and grapefruit juice - some hops but certainly not the "legion" of Simcoe and C hops I was promised.
Is this a thing? An IPA and grape thing? I think my last review was DFH 61 grape IPA and though I like Night Shift a little better I still don't like the combo.

Poured into a teku glass, the beer was an amber color with a thick off-white head. There was abundant lace.
Aroma of earthy, piney hops. Some citrus and sweet fruit.
Taste of grapes, with a hint of grapefruit. Earthy hops. A little funky. Nice sweet, bready background.
Pretty smooth and easy to drink. Not overly hoppy.
