Big thanks to Don for the hookup on this and the matching glassware. 1-liter poured into a night shift stemmed glass. The brew pours a clear color of light peach juice. More akin to golden raspberries than your typical red. A white froth of foam fades back to nothing.
The aroma is strong of vinegar but diving in deeper reveals a pungent and bright raspberry character that is juicy and fresh. It boasts a little seedy aspect typical of those natural raspberries.
The flavor of this is just irresponsibly sour. Downright brutal acedity that showcases some natural seedy raspberry with a light cracker-like grain aspect thats a little dusty. There is also an unmistakeable minty flavor that just doesnt fit. It gives the brew a sort of menthol feel that while unique just doesnt work.
This is a light bodied brew with a moderate amount of carbonation. It is brutally sour with some brine and vinegar that is also present in other night shift berliners that im not crazy about. The inclusion of mint is really a strange twist but really, anything to distract from the vinegar and acedic character is welcomed. This has the potential to be amazing if the brine and vinegar was removed. Instead of being clean, tart and super easy drinking, this is just too harsh, funky, slightly off and not enjoyable like I expect of a good berliner. It took me 2 hours to finish a single glass. Now what to do with the rest of the growler? Salad dressing maybe.

In a Night Shift teku, the beer was a slightly hazy rose gold color. An appealing color. There was a small white head which was gone quickly.
Aroma of sweet fruit and oak. There was a tiny bit of mint. Faintly vinous.
The taste was raspberry and tannins, with some late mint.
Sweet/sour mouthfeel. Crisp.
I enjoyed this beer a lot. The mint was a nice touch.

Appearance: Slight haze on a pale peach/rose/gold. Tiny off-white head drops to absolutely nothing in short order.
Smell: Oak and some wine barrel. Slight hint of raspberry. White wine and some grape skin. A touch of apple skin. A bit musty with some cork. A touch of citric tartness with some lactic built in to the back. Hyper fresh mint leaves. Almost a hint of vanilla bean.
Taste: A ton of oak and wood tannins. Fresh raspberry runs through the back and jumps a bit as it warms. Mint runs through the back of everything. A hint of almost strawberry. Some white wine. Biting citric tart up front with a solid punch of lactic through the back. Very faint hint of yeast and crackery malt. Hints of lemon and apple skin. Melds a bit more as it warms
Mouthfeel: A bit slick light to medium body with minimal carbonation. Surprisingly clean with a mildly dry finish.
Overall: Time for some nudes!
Night Shift makes some damn good weisses. This is no exception. Drink it while you can.
