Poured into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date.
A- Pours a hazy medium amber color with a 1/2 inch cream colored head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves a jagged ring behind.
S- Sweet orange aroma kind of reminds me of an orange creamsicle. Also a bit of pineapple.
T- Again, orangey but the bitterness and earthiness of the hop flavor gives me more of a vitamin C type taste. Quite drinkable with mild bitterness for the style.
M- A bit dry (which kind of amplifies that chalky vitamin C thing I get) with medium carbonation and a lightish body.
O- Definitely in line with the new hazy-looking IPAs with low bitterness and high fruit flavor, which are good but I look for a bit more intensity in my IPAs. It's particularly the feel and flavor which remind me of a Flintsones vitamin that are least enticing. I'm being nitpicky as it is a good beer but this brewery was pitched to me as of Trillium quality and I disagree.
