Copenhagen 23/3 2026. 47,3 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop. Golden and black label on a steel can with the name and style of the beer and the number 93.
Pours opaque hazy, golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, fermented odor of overripe stone fruits mingling with a sharp and little aggressive citric scent. Mango and overripe peach. Alcohol. Grapefruit and lemon. Searing.
Light carbonation. Medium thick. oily, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with pronounced sweet undertone. More than a touch of alcohol. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry and boozy.
A hard hitting backpack.

Quite pale hazy milky colour. Smell is strong citrus, mango and slightly dank. Taste is the same, though more mellowed out. Feel is nice and rich, with a lasting astringency, not much bitterness. Good stuff

Opaque corn milk yellow but with minimal head dying to a thin chain leaving some sparse but sticky cobweb lacing.
This delivers that classic Monkish cottonmouth with heavy citrus and a touch of spice coming to a mild white wine NZ hop dryness.

poured from a 16oz can into a CW snifter. pours a milky, hazy yellow with just the thinnest soapy white foam film on top. notes of over ripe tropical fruits and orange citrus as well as pine and grass on the nose. taste mostly follows but it’s so damn smooth for 10%. almost no alcohol or hop burn at all. thick, full mouthfeel. perfect level of carbonation. idk how monkish does it with those NE TIPAs. it’s not like other breweries don’t pull it off but there’s usually a higher level of sweetness or alcohol burn or both in some cases and with this i could probably trick myself into thinking this was a 7% NE IPA (until i finish the can and get up and go “whoa, wait a minute…”). delicious. and it’s been a bit since my last taste of monkish.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. brandy snifter glass
Price: $24.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing in Torrance, Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 15, 2020
Consumed: Oct. 15, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 14, 2020; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Was lucky enough to pick up some Monkish once again while house sitting in Manhattan Beach. Gave “Batch 2” of this a 4.50 on Untappd back at the 2018 Firestone Invitational and wrote, “#HazeNo.” Back then that was a huge rating for me for a hazy beer. This one went down as a “TRIPLE IPA w/ Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, and Citra hops 10.0% ABV.” Yummy.
Poured a golden murky color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see plenty of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 5.00)
Smelled juicy peach, mango, pineapple, grapefruit, Citra, tangerine, orange citrus, Nelson, gooseberry, wet grass, lime zest, floral, white grape and pine. Smelled even better out of the can with mango and pineapple dominating. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted much better than the smell. In order got mango, peach, pineapple, grapefruit, Citra, tangerine, orange citrus, Nelson, wet grass, white grape, lime zest, peppery spice, caramel candy squares (which I somehow associate with Motueka), hints of gooseberry, floral and pine. Alcohol is fairly well hidden for 10 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. Super smooth. (Feel - 4.75)
This one got better as it went down. Feels like I overrated this slightly but I can’t see which category I would change. Just a splendid hazy TIPA. (Overall - 4.50)

For Batch 4! Sweet white wine grape, lemony-orange citrus, and hint of trop-hoppy dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a lemony citrus and hoppy bitter finish. As it warms, the finish turns into more of a grapefruit citrus bitterness that lingers. This is so soft and juicy on the swallow...this is fantastic!
