Made the stop at Monkish before a trip to Manhattan Beach for Thanksgiving. I was 23rd in line, but it actually moved pretty quickly. Picked up Foggier Window, which was amazing, a Tripel for my father-in-law and this one for me. Board called it a “DIPA w/ Citra and Mosaic” I called it a New England Style with Citra and Mosaic. Was really looking forward to it, but it will be hard to beat Foggier Window.
Poured a pale hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy-to-fizzy white head. Slow-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding uneven lacing. Good retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled trashy Mosaic, pulpy orange juice, peach blossom, Citra, stone fruit, grapefruit and lemon zest. Had me wanting more for sure. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose for the most part. Was tasting that 8.3 pct. for sure. Orange blossom, peach, Mosaic, stone fruit, Citra, boozy orange juice and citrus pulp. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Lively carbonation. Long, juicy, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Nowhere as good as Foggier Window, but I don’t know anything could be. I was all over on a few ratings, but settled on what I settled on. Still feel like I underrated it just a tad. (Overall - 4.000
