Draft at Function PDX. Hazy yellow pour, ring of white head. Aroma is citrusy, grapefruit peel. Taste is citrusy, grapefruit. Zesty, tangy, full. Lingering bitterness

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a large, off-white head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, resin and caramel malt. Great tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.

Appearance: Cloudy, opaque, straw-yellow color with a generous-sized, thick, foamy white head that slowly faded. A nice-looking hazy IPA.
Smell: Fairly prominent citrus and tropical fruit aromas dominate with a hint of green onion like aromas.
Taste: Moderate pineapple notes, tropical fruit notes and some mild sweet citrus fruit notes. There is a noticeable hop bitterness that comes in toward the finish that results in the beer having no cloying sweetness that plagues some hazies.
Mouth-feel: On the light side of medium-bodied with a generous level of carbonation. The beer has a nice crisp, dry finish.
Overall: A good NE IPA consistent with quite a few other Monkish offerings.

Cloudy yellow, white foam.
Grapefruit, alcohol, pot.
Surprisingly not a burst of flavor. To my palate, Nelson's the prominent hop, Galaxy second and I'm not getting any Citra. Some lime and very easy going grapefruit. Bit of burn more than rich, soft, bright hop flavor.
Again, some heat but still creamy.

Sweet, tropical hoppy, white wine grape, and citrus-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a tasty and well-balanced, tropical hoppy, and grapefruit citrus-dank bitter finish. The grapefruit citrus bitterness comes out more as it warms. This just feels so great for a single! Just outstanding!

Type: 16-oz. can

Glass: Pure Project 16-oz. snifter glass
Price: $20.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing in Torrance, Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 21, 2020
Consumed: Oct. 29, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 20, 2020; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Had Rachel pick up a 4-pack of this and two others while she was house sitting in Manhattan Beach. Online description called this “Double Dry-Hopped (DDH) with Citra, Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops.” Was looking forward to that hop combo.
Poured a pale-to-golden murky color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see some bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled orange juice, tangerine rind, grapefruit, pineapple, big Citra, lesser but equal Galaxy and Nelson, peach, stone fruit, passionfruit, white grape, guava, wet grass and herbal. Much of the same from the can with Citra leading the way, followed by grapefruit, pineapple and peach. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste followed the nose, at least just as good. In order got orange juice, tangerine rind, big Citra, grapefruit, pineapple, Galaxy, peach, apricot, stone fruit, passionfruit, guava, mango, wet grass, herbal, hints of Nelson and white grape. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just a world-class hazy IPA. May have underrated it slightly. (Overall - 4.50)

On tap at Monkish in Torrance, CA.
So damn refreshing. No, not the beer - not yet. What’s refreshing is that this is another Hazy, yet it tastes completely different from my last one. This one is a vacation on an island with Sanne Voet. Like, picture her on the beach doing jumping jacks n shit. Yeah, that’s what I get here. Damn, am I in Torrance or Bermuda?

In test-run bottle format.
L: Murky off-yellow, looks pale and like the color of macaroni. Mild in terms of lacing and a dollop of head on top.
S: Pineapple, lemon and grapefruit with hints of mango. Smells delicious with grassy undertones.
T: Follows the nose- heavy on tropical fruits like mango and pineapple, but I also pick up on pomegranate and mixed berry alongside a nice lemongrassy finish.
F: Soft, medium bodied and medium in weight. Smooth, creamy with the right touch of carbonation. No booze, smooth sailing.
O: really enjoying this, and the fact that it is in a "lower" ABV is scoring even more points with me. Don't have much to complain about. I am very glad to try. Cheers!
