Collaboration with Other Half Brewing Co.
Monkish x Other Half collaboration. We decided to bring back JFK2LAX but with the OH Daydream treatment (oats and lactose). “In The Clouds” version is a robust Triple IPA with more oats, more milk sugar, and a huge hopping of Motueka, Citra, and Simcoe.

Canned 02/19/19, 'JFK2LAX V. 2'.
Pours a very pale gold color, similar to what you'd expect from one of Monkish's "Foggier" series beers. Some thin, frothy foam bubbles up when pouring, but as it settles there's not much lace retention around the inside of the glass. Poured into the Monkish stemmed "GGG" glass.
Huge tropical nose on this. Mango, pineapple, clementine, all balanced with boozy undertones. On the back end there's a bit of residual hoppiness, but you can already tell this is going to be smooth as hell.
Bursting out the gate with more tropical fruits. Overripe pineapple, those dark, sweet soft center pieces. Mango, just a little overripe but like those pieces that are just firm enough to tear cleanly from the outside skin. Sweet citrus, like a mandarin but with undertones of candied grapefruit and zesty grapefruit peel. After the fruit bomb hits your palate you're instantly followed up by a wave of warming booze and subtle but potent piney hops that tingle and numb your tongue as it fizzles out. Epic.
Soft, creamy, smooth. This is where that Other Half treatment really rounds this out perfectly. Lactose and oats impart such a soft mouthfeel that retains a low carbonation that makes itself known, but it's in no way distracting or too mellow either. Perfect mouth-coating accompanies a soft, sticky mouth-coating and a warm, boozy finish.
