This pours clear with a great big citra character on the nose. There is a slightly grassy hop note on the sip with a bitter finish that just pops. A taste of SoCal here in the bay.

6oz pour in a stemmed glass at the Anaheim location. Entering review from notes.

Pours opaquely murky, whitish-yellow, with a creamy head. Visually indistinguishable from the last Monkish IPA I had. Smell is bright citrus, juicy undertones, a little dank twist.

Taste is citra hops with a bit of an oaty background, creamy, moderate resinousness.

Mouthfeel is again dry and drying, slight chalkiness. Overall, quite good -- also quite similar to the last one.

Pours a matte, opaque and thick looking light orange color. Thin one to two finger head forms on the beer. Aroma has notes of orange, mango, and pineapple. There is a definite sweetness to the nose.

Taste follows the nose with notes of orange, mango, and papaya with a surprising amount of pine and woody bitterness coming through as well. I was expecting a fruit bomb based on the nose, but there is actually a shocking amount of bitterness. That being said, its not overly bitter and it actually quite pleasant. Feel is fuller bodied and smooth. Carbonation is a bit on the spritzy side of things.

Overall a very nice IPA. In particular its nice to have one of these NE style IPAs with a bite of bite to it.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a murky orange with quickly-dissipating white head. Nose is citrus peel, pine, corn, honey, pineapple, mango, and a bit of leather. The taste is really interesting. Definitely a nice mix of sweet fruit and bitter hops. Tropical fruit - mango, pineapple, and papaya. Resin, tree sap, and grapefruit peel. It's all there. A nice balance of flavors. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and the alcohol is not detectable. A really nice IPA, even though it isn't my favorite style.

Yeah... Here we go. And here I am with a pretty much straight up good Monkish brew. Nothing amazing like Chopin dreaming or Edgar Allen Poe after doing whatever awesome stuff that he did. It’s just good and that’s about it. It’s not beautiful like a peacock spreading its wings, but again, it will simply just do. And Raul is ok with that.
