Poured from a 16oz can into a TG Assassin teku glass. Pours a hazy golden orange with a finger of soapy, bubbly white foam head. Pine, dank resin, grapefruit and cantaloupe on the nose. Taste has those elements but also some grass and citrus. Full mouthfeel. Smooth as hell for 8% even when it warms a little after sitting in the glass. I dig this hop combo. Nelson and Galaxy are two of my favorites and Monkish seems to nail Galaxy.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Melvin 14-oz. Spiegelau IPA glass
Price: $22.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing in Torrance, Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 21, 2020
Consumed: Oct. 28, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 20, 2020; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Had Rachel pick up a 4-pack of this and two others while she was house sitting in Manhattan Beach. Online description called this a “Double Dry-Hopped IPA w/ Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops.” That’s a great hop combo.
Poured a bright golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Was a calm setting underneath with no noticeable bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Very good spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled lemon, lime, pine, dish soap, menthol, herbal, viney berry, cough drop, nectarine, peach and passion fruit. For mentioned hops, more Motueka, followed by Galaxy and just a touch of Nelson. Better out of the can with Motueka and Nelson shining through. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was almost as good as the nose. Very spicy up front. In order got black peppery spice, pine, lemon, lime, dish soap, passion fruit, peach, nectarine, herbal, menthol, viney berry, tangerine rind and caramel. Not much Nelson to me, but plenty of Motueka and Galaxy. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, viney finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Outstanding overall but was hoping for more with that hop combo. (Overall - 4.00)

Sweet lemony-citrus, tropical hoppy, white wine grape, and grassy-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a lemon and grapefruit citrus and hoppy bitter swallow. Some earthy/grassy bitter vibes show up on the backend...from the Galaxy? This clashes and starts to dominate the other tasting notes and interferes with enjoying the finish. It has a nice and soft mouthfeel to it. Good, I just wish the earthy/grassy notes were either more tame or non-existent.
