Glass: North Park 16.5-oz. Munique glass
Price: $20.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing in Torrance, Calif.
Purchased: Oct. 21, 2020
Consumed: Oct. 28, 2020
Misc.: Canned on Oct. 21, 2020; Split 4-pack with Sonny
Had Rachel pick up a 4-pack of this and two others while she was house sitting in Manhattan Beach. Online description called this a “Double dry-hopped IPA with Galaxy and Idaho 7 hops (DDH IPA version of Hip and Hop).” Not my favorite hops, but really coming around on Galaxy. Was still looking forward to it.
Poured a golden hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of frothy off-white head. No bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Outstanding retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Smelled both the Galaxy and Idaho 7 hops. Also peach, apricot, passion fruit, tropical rind, lemon, pine, herbal and unsweetened iced tea. Even better out of the can with even more peach. (Smell -
(Smell - 4.00)
Tasted more Idaho 7 than Galaxy. In order got peach, nectarine, apricot skin, lemon, pine, dank resin, herbal, viney vegetable, sweet tea, passion fruit and caramel. (Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Abrupt bitter finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Very good overall, but not anything I would tell people they would need to try. (Overall - 3.75)
