Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Triple / Imperial IPA
Glass: Clear 16-oz. Bruges beer glass
Price: $24.00 for a 4-pack
From: Monkish Brewing Company in Torrance, Calif.
Purchased: March 19, 2021
Consumed: March 28, 2021
Misc.: Canned on March 17, 2021 at 8:37 a.m. PT
Grabbed a 4-pack of this, and two others on a recent trip to Monkish. It called for a “Triple IPA with Galaxy, Mosaic and Sabro hops.” Really looking forward to those three hops together.
Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy off-white head. Plenty of bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled trashy Galaxy, Sabro, coconut, cedar, vanilla, passion fruit, orange, peach, apricot, Mosaic, floral, mint and green leaf. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Got Galaxy, Sabro, coconut, cedar, vanilla, passion fruit, peach, apricot, orange, Mosaic, floral, mint, green leaf and herbal. Was getting all that 10.1 pct. ABV. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Boozy astringent finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Was a little disappointed in this one. Wanted to bump it up on a few categories but couldn’t pull the trigger. Still outstanding. (Overall - 4.00)

16oz can poured into a teku
l: strong haze bright yellow to orange
S: light booze up front then hop hits, topical goodness with some dank on the backend
T, as more NEIPA taste follows the nose slight wood notes (guessing the sabro)
Overall well done Triple like it was not candy sweet and the could taste the alcohol and know it was a triple

Sweet tropical hoppy and earthy hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows with a juicy-soft, subdued and earthy, tropical hoppy, and a grapefruit citrus boozy finish. As it warms, the citrus bitter booziness starts to bring that earthy galaxy vibe with it. This is a little thinner and boozier than most Monkish TIPAs, but still good!
