On tap at Monkish Brewing

A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a light layer and leaves some nice lacing.

S: Grassy, resinous, pine, bright zesty citrus, underlying mix of exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, blueberry, light floral notes, biscuity malt, and a little light caramel sweetness.

T: Green, grassy, resinous pine, bright citrus, lemon lime, tangerine, and grapefruit, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, gooseberry, pineapple, passion fruit, apricot, blueberry, peach, mango, and white grape, floral hints, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: A little on the fuller side of medium body, slightly prickly moderate and, soft on the palate, but with a bit of hop burn.

O: Dare I say this one is just a little too fresh. There are some really nice fruity notes behind the the green wall up front that I think would really pop if it was given just a little time to come together and mellow. I wish I could grab some to go and revisit it over time, but no luck there. As it stands it's good with the potential to be even better.

Canned on 6/9/22; consumed on 7/9/22

Pours an opaque, glossy mango-gold body topped with two fingers of sudsy, dense, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a vague layer of cap, thin, frothy collar, and a haphazard spatter of soapy, webby/spotty lacing around the walls of the glass.

Aroma highlights orange pulp and sticky lychee upfront, soon absorbing peach syrup and lime zest; underripe mango meets papaya bubblegum on the back end, while mossy resins linger through the closing aspects of the bouquet.

Taste opens with vinous white grape accented with shreds of dank strawberry; the mid-palate finds twangy limeade weighed with wet moss as bursts of papaya on the back end see waves of underripe guava and slight passionfruit finish.

Mouthfeel offers a medium body with a moderate, rounded carbonation; a fluffy dispersion brings creamy sensations sporting a mild grit over the mid-palate as burly resins evolve a boggy undertone with a burgeoning twang through the finish.

Abundant dry-hopping saturates boggy resins for a brighter expression laden with semi-dank, brightly tropical overtones atop a characteristically taut and clean Monkish freshness permeating throughout.
