Canned on 7/19/23; consumed on 8/16/23
Pours a turbid, milky golden haze capped with nearly two fingers of tautly soapy, eggshell-white foam; solid head retention leaves a slim layer of cap, a slight, frothy collar, and a tentative spread of sudsy, webby lacing around the walls of the glass.
Aromas open to a peppery dank and boggy mango overtone, with accents of papaya and white gummies wafting through a mossy hop stank as creamy lychee peaks alongside hints of waxy white wine on the back end of the bouquet.
Taste features overripe mango and boggy orange peel engaging deeper undertones of zested citrus and grapefruit through the mid-palate, with softer tones of papaya settling while zestier lime peel sparks the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body and a subtle, rounded fluff of moderate carbonation, levying creamy textures against a twangy underscore and wispy grit as a delicately juicy back end invigorates the swallow.
A comprehensive yet coyly docile TIPA sporting equal parts juicy bursts and refined, dank contrasts; a deftly-rounded, beautifully moderated offering from Monkish.

Sweet tropical hoppy, orange-tangerine citrus, and a citrus-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a slightly malty, hoppy, and an orange-grapefruit juice citrus bitter swallow. Wow! This is about as good as it gets using all Citra hops! And such a beautiful color! I did notice, however, that a slight hint of gin-like, citrus booziness peeks out just a touch as it warms. Outside of that, this is world-class!
