Was lucky enough to get this beer and a few others on a recent work trip to Reno. Monkish’s website called this one “West Coast India Pale Ale w/ Strata, Mosaic, & Chinook.”

Poured a medium yellow clear color with two fingers of frothy-to-fizzy off-white head. Could see a lot of fast-moving bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Decent spotty lacing. Decent watery retention. (Sight - 4.00)

Smelled Strata, dank weed, pine, grapefruit rind, Chinook, mint, wet grass, floral, Mosaic, citrus zest, berry and chewy caramel. Just as good from the can. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted just as good as the nose. In order got Strata, bitter pine, dank weed, grapefruit find, resin, Chinook, aspirin, earthy malt, floral, Mosaic, citrus zest, berry, mango, passion fruit, caramel and lingering black pepper. (Taste - 4.25)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

Damn. I kind of shit on Monkish a lot for their hazy IPAs and the few (one?) West Coast IPA I’ve had was a disappointment, but this one was outstanding, close to excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
